How can you be involved?

1. Committee Members:

We invite you to consider joining one of our POPS Committees. Committee participation offers an opportunity to collaborate with fellow members, contribute to the mission of POPS, and become more involved beyond formal board roles. Committee appointments are a two-year commitment, with time and involvement varying by committee.

Conference Planning Committee

  • The Conference Planning Committee is chaired by the Vice President and a Member-at-Large (MAL). Members support all aspects of the annual conference, including content development, abstract recruitment, daily schedule planning, CME acquisition, marketing, social event planning, coordination with industry partners, and selection of food, beverages, and conference swag. The committee typically meets every other month from July through December and then monthly from January through May. Attendance at the conference is encouraged but not required.
Mentorship Committee
  • The Mentorship Committee oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of the POPS Mentorship Program. Committee responsibilities include reviewing mentor and mentee applications, pairing participants, defining program expectations, and following mentorship outcomes. The committee also explores opportunities to expand and improve the program based on participant feedback and membership surveys. The committee chair reports to the Board of Directors bi-annually. Meetings occur approximately once per quarter, and the committee is chaired by a POPS member.
Education Committee
  • The Education Committee focuses on developing high-quality educational content for POPS members throughout the year. Chaired by the Vice President, the committee aligns its annual goals with Board recommendations, member feedback, and partnerships with external organizations. Meeting frequency varies based on active projects, typically occurring every two to three months.
