MEMBERSHIP LEVELS

The Pediatric Orthopaedic Practitioners Society (POPS) offers several membership options designed to support advanced practice providers and allied health professionals involved in pediatric orthopaedics. Membership provides opportunities for continuing education, networking, mentorship, research collaboration, and professional leadership.

Active Member

Annual Dues: $175 USD
Membership Term: 1 year (non-recurring)

Active Membership is intended for experienced Advanced Practice Providers dedicated to pediatric orthopaedics. Active Members enjoy full membership privileges, including voting rights and eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors.

Eligibility:

  • Hold an active license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant/Associate (PA) issued by a state, province, or territory in North America.

  • Have practiced in pediatric orthopaedics for at least one year.

  • Dedicate at least 75% of their professional time (clinical care and/or research) to pediatric orthopaedics.

Associate Member

Annual Dues: $100 USD
Membership Term: 1 year (non-recurring)

Associate Membership is designed for providers who are beginning their pediatric orthopaedic careers, practice pediatric orthopaedics part-time, or work in related healthcare professions.

Eligibility:

Applicants must hold an active license or be recognized as one of the following:

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

  • Physician Assistant/Associate (PA)

  • APP Fellow

  • Physical Therapist (PT)

  • Occupational Therapist (OT)

  • Physician (MD/DO)

  • Physiotherapist

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Athletic Trainer (ATC)

  • Other allied health professional recognized by their state or country

Associate Membership is available to individuals who:

  • Have less than one year of pediatric orthopaedic experience; or

  • Dedicate less than 75% of their professional time to pediatric orthopaedics; or

  • Are international advanced practice providers who do not meet Active Member eligibility requirements.

Please note: Associate Members are non-voting and are not eligible to serve on the Board of Directors.


POPS/POSNA Dual Membership

(Available Beginning in 2027)

Membership Term: January 1–December 31 (annual renewal)
Automatic Renewal: No

Beginning in 2027, eligible members may apply for a combined POPS Membership + POSNA Adjunct Membership at a 20% discount off the combined dues.

This partnership expands access to educational programming, networking opportunities, and professional resources across both organizations.

Eligibility:

  • Meet all eligibility requirements for POPS Membership.

  • Meet all eligibility requirements for POSNA Adjunct Membership.

  • Complete separate membership applications for both organizations.

A single combined invoice will be issued by POSNA. No separate payment to POPS is required.

2027 Transition Information:

  • Applications for POSNA Adjunct Membership open June 1 through November 2, 2026.

  • Approved applicants begin their membership in March 2027.

  • Current POPS and POSNA Adjunct Members will renew under the new discounted rate during the January 2027 renewal cycle.

  • Current POPS members applying for new POSNA Adjunct Membership may request a one-time extension of their POPS membership to align with the new renewal cycle. Please contact POPS before applying.

Important: POSNA Adjunct Membership has additional eligibility requirements, including sponsorship by an Active POSNA Member for at least two years. Please review POSNA's membership requirements before applying.


Student Member

Annual Dues: $50 USD
Membership Term: 1 year (non-recurring)

Student Membership is available to individuals currently enrolled in an accredited educational program preparing them for advanced practice in pediatric orthopaedics.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be actively enrolled in an accredited:

  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) program; or

  • Physician Assistant/Associate program.

Member Benefits:
  • Access to educational resources and networking opportunities

  • Early involvement in the pediatric orthopaedic community

Please note: Student Members are non-voting and may not serve on committees or the Board of Directors.
