    Additional Job Description:

    POSITION SUMMARY:   The Advanced Practice Professional (APP) has coordination and clinical skills required for the comprehensive management of pediatric orthopaedic patients, (including biological, social and psychological assessments).  The APP coordinates involvement of medical/surgical specialty teams necessary to develop a comprehensive plan for the patient, and reviews the plan of care with the other members of the clinical team, participates in directing that care, performs diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, peri-operative services, and coordinates discharge planning/follow-up (as applicable).  The APP participates in the education of residents and medical/nursing students.  

    Provide healthcare services consistent with state law and the requirements of the professional licensing or certification authority and/or hospital privileges, where applicable.  Such service may include, but are not limited to.   

     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR NURSE PRACTITIONER: 

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 

    1. Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing 

    2. National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers 

    3. Licensure or eligibility for licensure, as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia. 

    4. Successful completion of AORN accredited CNOR program and RNFA certification for surgical first assist.   

    5. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.   

    EXPERIENCE: 

    1. Eligible new graduates will be considered. 

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 

    1. Orthopaedic, pediatric or surgical experience preferred.   

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT: 

    EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 

    1. Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant or Master’s Degree as Physician Assistant required.   

    2. Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant (PA) training program required. 

    3. Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required. 

    4. Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine or WV Board of Osteopathic Medicine. 

    6. BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department. 

    EXPERIENCE: 

    1. Eligible new graduates will be considered.

    Nemours in Jacksonville is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Ortho Team!

    This position provides primarily clinic based care for pediatric patients, including interviews patients, obtains and records health histories, completes physical and developmental assessments, diagnoses health problems, manages the health care of those patients for which he/she has been educated, provides health care teaching and counseling, initiates referrals and maintains health records in the inpatient and/or outpatient settings.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provides care to pediatric patients as guided by education, clinical expertise and Scope of Practice Agreement, including ambulatory, inpatient (acute) care, surgical first assist and pre- and post-operative management 
    • Elicits comprehensive or focused/interval health history 
    • Performs complete or interim physical examinations as indicated by the nature of the encounter 
    • Orders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests, including laboratory, radiological or other tests within the PA/NP scope of practice 
    • Plans and performs interventions including medications, treatments and procedures, and modifies plans based on evaluation of patient response. 
    • Initiates, monitors, alters or orders medications related to conditions or illnesses being treated within applicable divisions 
    • Surgical first assist in the operating room 
    • Position may require travel between different clinical locations 
    • Position will include some evening and night shifts covering Wolfson ED 
    • Position will include 1-2 call shifts per month

    • Federal DEA registration either active or required upon hire

    A nationally recognized, large pediatric orthopedic practice in Philadelphia, PA is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to partner closely with one of our orthopedic surgeons who leads a highly complex and high-volume surgical practice while also serving as Chief of the Division.

    We are looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) who is passionate about pediatric orthopedics and thrives in a fast-paced, academically driven, team-oriented environment.

    Position Overview

    The APP will play a critical role in the care of pediatric orthopedic patients, functioning with a high level of autonomy while collaborating closely with surgeons, clinical staff, and administrative teams.     Qualifications

    • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Highly organized, flexible, and motivated with a strong work ethic

    • Active or eligible medical licensure in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey
